Keller Williams RED Day is May 13, 2010

Friday, March 5th, 2010

What is Keller Williams RED Day?

RED (Renew, Energize and Donate) Day is a Keller Williams Realty service initiative dedicated to improving our local communities. We are asking all Keller Williams Realty associates in the US and Canada to donate their time on May 13, 2010 to renewing and energizing aspects of their local communities. Because of her constant commitment to the culture of our company, this day has been dedicated in honor of our Vice Chairman, Mo Anderson.

Our vision for this day is that all Keller Williams associates will actively engage in a coordinated effort to improve their local community. Activities may include rehabbing a house, cleaning up a local trail, providing food for the homeless, or any other service related activity needed in your community. This will be one of the single biggest events ever undertaken in the real estate industry.

KW Cares: Media Spotlights Chattanooga Market Center’s Compassionate Charge

Media Spotlights Chattanooga Market Center’s Compassionate Charge

In the business of helping to make dreams of home ownership come true, the Chattanooga-East Brainerd market center expanded that mission last year to include helping a terminally ill child to have a dream come true. Working through the Make-A-Wish Foundation, associates decided to grant a full wish for a child, says Robben Mathews, team leader.

Collectively they raised funds for Nash Norris, who has been afflicted with a terminal form of spinal cancer, to visit Disney World and Sea World with his family. The under-water themed sendoff party that they held for Nash and his family tugged at the heartstrings of associates and catapulted the market center into the media spotlight. Read More.

First Annual KW RED Day:  Keller Williams Realty Associates Contribute Over 150,000 Hours of Community Service!

Across North America, KW associates donated more than 150,000 hours of service to helping, painting, renewing, energizing, donating, raising money and countless more community projects all in unison during Keller Williams Realty’s very first RED Day. Many of them had so many inspiring stories that touched the hearts of all. Here are just a few:

  • Associates from the Pensacola (Fla.) market center gave a warm welcome to wounded veterans arriving for the Escarosa Independence Weekend.

  • A team of close to 35 volunteers from the McKinney North Collin County (Texas) market center spent two days reconstructing the exterior of an elderly woman’s east McKinney house. The crew re-landscaped, power-washed, cleaned windows, trimmed trees, removed hedges, cleaned out the garage, replaced rotted wood, replaced landscape timbers, fixed the fence and hauled away trash.

  • Associates from the Overland Park (Kan.) market center participated in “Kolors for Kids.” They collected crayons, chalk, colored pencils and coloring books from agents and delivered them in red wagons to area hospitals and children’s facilities.

  • Associates from the Carmel Valley/Del Mar market center delivered 612 bags of groceries to service men and women through MOM: Military Outreach Ministries.

  • Associates from the Augusta (Ga.) market center planted a garden for The Berry Center, a care facility for the mentally and developmentally handicapped.

Mark Willis announces the first annual Keller Williams Red Day event in honor of Mo Anderson at Family Reunion 2009.

A Very Caring Family Reunion

Raising an extraordinary $31,800, Family Reunion attendees donated in multiples of $20 to purchase bricks which they added to the KW Cares “House the Love Built.” The house was such a hit, that donations continued to come in after Ken Medema gave a moving performance during Mo Anderson’s Inspirational Brunch.

Back year-after-year by popular demand, the legendary Medema punctuates the Inspirational Brunch with his gift for responding spontaneously to each guest with a reflective song. This year, he’s added another gift, a CD collection, titled, “I Want Home.” Dedicated to the Keller Williams family, Medema has generously committed 50 percent of the proceeds to the KW Cares general fund to provide future grants for KW family members in need due to emergencies.

Go to www.kenmedema.com to order the special collection,
