What is Happening in Real Estate This Month – August 2009?
Although experts predict it will take time for the economy to fully recover, there has been a lot of encouraging news recently. Do your clients know?
• More homeowners are eligible for mortgage modifications, as the Making Home Affordable program now extends beyond Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to include FHA loans.
• Actual home sales rose for the fifth consecutive month, while inventory continued to shrink for the second month in a row.
• For the past two months the percentage of first-time buyers has dipped to 29 percent as a result of more repeat buyers entering the market, suggesting signs of more normalized conditions.
